My First Sock Progress

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
I'm getting there! My goal is to get down to the toe so I can go back in to my LYS and have the teacher show me how to graft the toe and finish the sock. This has not been as hard as I thought and I even think that this sock might fit me. If so, I have enough of the yarn to make a second one and even wear them!! My secret pal sent me two beautiful skeins of sock yarn and a couple of patterns. Once this beginning (learning) pair is done, it's off to the good stuff.

Very cool. I started socks a few months ago and then I decided to change the yarn. I think I might get them back out after I finish a few projects... Potato Chip Scarf and my Felted Rose bag... Good Luck Sue

You're doing great! You'll have your first pair done in no time. Grafting the toe is easy, just follow the directions carefully.

Oooh - socks are so much fun! Especially with self-patterning yarn.

I just wanted to say thank you for the lovely card revealing yourself as my Secret Pal. You were an excellent pal and sent me such wonderful things. I've been using the bag you knit as a purse the last few days and I've gotten so many compliments on it.

Your sock is looking great! Good luck with your potato chip scarf! I thought it would be a quick and easy knit I don't think that I will be making one again anytime soon!!
